Why plastic conversion technology is possible
Plastics are long chains of hydrocarbons built from building blocks that originate in fossil fuels. This conversion is possible because plastics share the same carbon-and-hydrogen building blocks as fuels. When these chains are broken into smaller pieces, many of the resulting molecules are hydrocarbon gases. In short, plastics are hydrocarbons—so they can be turned back into hydrocarbon gas
